The tool life of cold extrusion is longer than that of other tools.

The service life of the cold extrusion forming tool depends on several factors, including the workpiece material, the shape and size tolerance of the process, and the complexity of the extrusion pressure. But in general, the service life of the cold extrusion tool is not in terms of the number of processing jobs. This is because the deformation of the workpiece material is squeezed, and can not be removed. Especially in cold extrusion processing some hard machining materials (e.g., Inconel and tantalum), compared with conventional machining, tool wear is almost negligible.
Cold extrusion molding:
(1) cold extrusion can be easily processed in other areas, it is difficult to process the workpiece, and can obtain high dimensional accuracy and good surface finish.
(2) it is very important to have a little or no material waste to be caused by cold extrusion, which is especially important for some precious metals such as gold and platinum.
(3) cold extrusion speed, the production efficiency can be as high as more than 200 pieces per minute.
